Let the tree continue to grow

Re: “Don’t let oak tree stand in way of housing,” letter, Sept. 10.

It takes less than two years to build an apartment building with no particular character, but maybe 150 years to create a tree that provides shade, colour and beauty to a little corner of Oak Bay. All it takes from nature is rain and sun — no gas, oil or electricity.

Please, let’s not let Victoria become a city of square, unattractive buildings.

Let the tree continue to grow.
