Alarmed
Dear Council:
My wife and I have read material relating to a proposed 5-storey building at 2326 Oak Bay Avenue and are alarmed that a project of this height, lot coverage (including lot-line to lot-line underground parking), density, and collateral tree damage might be approved. We hear all too frequently from developers in Victoria that a project is not viable UNLESS some desired 14-unit density and height be allowed. These claims should be recognized as nothing other than self-serving profit
enhancements and should not underly a rationale for approval. Something like a 3-storey building with reduced lot coverage (including underground parking) is much more in keeping with the neighbourhood and streetscape. We urge you not to approve this proposal.
